Nobody chooses a yacht quickly. It starts on a dock, or at a boat show in the middle of a crowded weekend, and it ends with a boat in the water and a season ahead of it. Four owners talk here about the one they chose and why it was this one, across the Flybridge, Skydeck, GTO and Hardtop ranges. How it rides at speed. What the deck turns into once friends are aboard. Why They Chose a Galeon
Several owners appear in this film, and two things keep coming back. The first is seaworthiness, the part nobody can judge tied to a dock and everybody judges within an hour of leaving one. The second is space.
Steve and Lisa cover both: a solid ride in open water at a cruising speed of 25 knots, which is a lot of boat moving comfortably. Then friends come aboard for the day, and the deck still has room in it.
Detail Decided It on the Show Floor
A boat show hides nothing. Every builder is within a few hundred metres of the next, and the boats sit open all weekend for anyone who wants to look twice. John found the 400 FLY at one of those shows, and what kept him aboard was the way it held together up close, and a finish that only shows itself at arm's length.
An Upper Deck That Stays Open
A skydeck puts the best room in the boat upstairs, in the open. Tommy and Audrey come back to the floor plan more than to anything else, and to what happens when a deck this size is left open instead of divided into rooms. It reads as a single space. Guests find their own corner without leaving the group, and the day stays in one piece.
A Boat Named WETAVERSE
The slip came first. On the West Coast the berth sets the limit before anything else does, and Jim and Sherri needed a boat that would live inside it without giving anything up on board. They found one on a walkthrough video, an outboard GTO, and Jim's line for it was that the luxury came "all packed into a 32-foot outboard."
The boat was built on the Bay of Gdańsk and reached them on New Year's Eve.
Jim is a CTO, so the name came out of his own working life. WETAVERSE is his answer to the metaverse, "a water-based escape from the daily grind of reality." Ahead of them, dolphin stampedes and a run down the coast toward Mexico.
The 410 HTC, Decided on Sight
Some decisions take a season. Others take one walk through the saloon. Kent and Kathy saw the 410 HTC and set their intentions to own one, which is their own phrase for a decision already made by the time they stepped back off.
Now they are learning it: weekends at the marina, short trips while the boat becomes familiar. There is no hurry in any of it.

Yes, and the route runs through a Galeon dealer. Dealers know the owners in their area and the events where the fleet turns up. A boat show is the other place to look: owners come aboard to see the newest models, so several are usually within a few stands of each other.
Many do. Galeon owners have usually owned boats before, and some move up within the range as their plans change. One owner had been buying and selling boats since the 1960s before choosing a Galeon Skydeck. Another owned a twenty-foot towboat before ordering a Galeon flybridge.
Sometimes, and a boat show is the easiest place to arrange it with a Galeon dealer. Boats are in the water and crews are on hand across a show weekend. Outside a show it depends on the dealer and the model, so it is worth asking early rather than on the day.
